Jayeonchae Hanu 600
We produce the most premium Korean beef with care and devotion.
“Hanu 600” is the original brand of Gwangju Korean beef that was registered in 1997 to distinguish Korean beef from imported beef. When the average weight of Korean beef was only 520 kg 10 years ago, we proudly produced premium beef that weighed over 600 kg. The brand was renamed “Jayeonchae Hanu 600” in 2007 and was merged with Gwangju's Jayeonchae brand so the company could continue producing premium Korean beef.
Hanu 600 Brand Team was organized in 2004 to help the Korean beef farms concentrate on nurturing high-quality breeds and meat, and Gwangju Chukhyeop was put up to take charge of distributing premium beef. Agricultural Technology Center is responsible for managing the Gwangju Korean beef brand and for suggesting a new vision.
Agricultural Technology Center discussed with Korean Beef Association its application for the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's local specialization project and its plan to build a fiber feed factory, believing that giving cattle completely fertilized fiber feed is the only way to realize an eco-friendly livestock industry and to achieve global competitiveness with the use of local ingredients. In the process, Gwangju Korean Beef Farming Cooperative was founded, and 100 members made investments, raising almost KRW1 billion.
Gwangju's fermented fiber feed for Korean beef uses three kinds of useful microbes supplied by Agricultural Technology Center (lactic acid bacteria, enzyme bacteria, and Bacillus subtilis) to ferment rice bran, a byproduct of farming, for adding to the feed. Korean blue barley is used to produce the best-quality feed.
Distinction from Other Brands
Best feed for the growth and health of oxen
An ox is a herbivore and needs to ingest over 60% bulky feed, but it has mostly been farmed with grains. The Korean beef farms of Jayeonchae Hanu 600 operate a fermented-fiber-feed factory to produce the best feed for their own oxen.
Gwangju's fermented fiber feed for Korean beef mixes Korean bulky feed with the grains to produce the best feed for the growth and good health of oxen. Agricultural Technology Center's useful microbes are used to completely ferment and mature the feed for the pursuit of a sustainable livestock industry for the environment, people, and animals. Jayeonchae Hanu 600 selects healthy calves from its farms and neuters them at 5-6 months old. They are raised in the beautiful Gwangju City, by Paldang Lake, for 30 months to produce the best-quality premium beef.
Jayeonchae Hanu 600 for the Consumers
Jayeonchae Hanu 600 promises the establishment of a consumer recall system for brand management, and operates a history tracking system for the consumers. To ensure the safety and sanitation of its product from the farm to the table, all its affiliate farms are tested for their water quality and are provided with water purifiers if necessary so they would produce clean, healthy beef.
Gwangju Chukhyeop is certified by HACCP for meat processing and distributes premium Korean beef in the cleanest condition.
